Instagram recently unveiled its Creator Lab in India, showcasing a new educational resource aimed at empowering content creators in the region. The platform will feature popular Instagram users from India, providing valuable insights and strategies for aspiring creators. The Creator Lab will offer resources in both English and Hindi, with captions available in five additional languages. This initiative builds on the success of Instagram’s Born on Instagram programme, which was launched in 2019 to support creators in India.

In addition to the Creator Lab, Instagram also introduced three new features designed to enhance user engagement on the platform. The first feature, Comments in Stories, allows users to comment on stories posted by other users. These comments will be visible to other users and will disappear after 24 hours, unless the story is added to Highlights. Users can also turn off the comments feature on their stories, giving them greater control over their content.

Instagram is expanding the functionality of cutouts of images as stickers on the platform. Users can now send cutouts of images from their camera roll as stickers in direct messages (DMs), providing a fun and creative way to communicate with friends and followers. This feature adds a new dimension to chatting on Instagram, allowing users to express themselves through visual content.

Another new feature introduced by Instagram is Birthday Notes, aimed at enhancing engagement on the platform. Users who opt in to this feature will see a small hat icon appear in the Instagram Notes section on their birthday. This feature uses the same privacy settings as regular Instagram notes, ensuring that users have control over who can see their birthday notes. By introducing Birthday Notes, Instagram aims to make birthdays on the platform more interactive and memorable for users.

Overall, Instagram’s launch of the Creator Lab in India and the introduction of new features demonstrate the platform’s commitment to fostering creativity and engagement among its users. By offering valuable resources and innovative features, Instagram continues to solidify its position as a leading social media platform for content creators and users alike. With these new initiatives, Instagram is poised to further enhance the user experience and strengthen its presence in the dynamic Indian market.
